Albany, N.Y., April 18--State Senator Tom O'Mara (R,C-Big Flats), the Ranking Member on the Senate Finance Committee, today continued his strong opposition to this year's state budget adoption process.
O'Mara noted that Governor Kathy Hochul and the Legislature's Democrat majorities are already 18 days late in enacting the 2024-2025 state budget that was supposed to be approved by April 1.
"The budget is not ready to be voted on," O'Mara said during debate on the Senate floor, where a few pieces of budget legislation were beginning to be voted on in the absence of critical details on an overall financial plan. "This is absolutely no way to be doing a budget."
